Been a while since I've been on here. Here's why I'm here: Right now I've got a decent desktop (AMD Phenom II x4 BE975 nice cooler, 8gb ram, video card) My intent was to do light gaming. Which I have, but not hardly any.
I'm wanting to sell it and get a 14-15.6" laptop. Currently I have a 2 year old netbook for when I'm not at home and it just doesn't cut it. Way too slow for me.
All I really ever do is use iTunes, browse the web, and use office. Also use it for hq videos. A lot of times I'll have two browser windows open (or a video player) one playing youtube, the other browsing. I'll be hooking it up to my monitor (sometimes tv) when I'm at home. I'm also getting a usb TV tuner so I can use it to record/watch tv shows
Anyways, I was going to order this online http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+1...0568&cp=1&lp=2
It was in stock, but when I clicked add to cart it went out of stock. Convenient right? If the "local" (45 min away) bestbuy has it, I was thinking about picking it up.
If not, I was thinking this one.

My main question is, how big of a difference would I see between the Pentium and i3? I know the Pentium line has been around for ages, but I know nothing about the changes made to it. If they have the Asus, would the $150 more be worth it for the HP? Also, how would they compare to my current desktop? (I know it would be slower, but how much slower?
Sorry for the long post, just hoping someone can help guide me.
Oh, also considering this one if they don't have the $250 (depending on what you all say about them)

It has a 2nd gen core i3 ($30 more, but has a backlit keyboard which is a plus for me) where as the HP has a 3rd gen. Does it make much of a difference?
