Which one?

I know I've asked for this type of advice before and the last time I got it here I was very happy with the decision so I have come back hoping that someone can do it for me again. I need an AGP upgrade (currently using a 6600GT 128MB) and am torn between two cards:

The one recommeded here was an ATI Radeon X800 GTO 256MB that's been unlocked so that all 16 pipelines are being used. After seeing the benchmarks though between the standard (not all pipelines enabled) though and a GeForce 6800GT the GeForce looks like it completely blows away the Radeon.

Which would be the better card? (Both being 256MB versions).

Thanks.

Why not consider the newer generation of cards. Both low mid-range 7600GT and X1650XT are now available for under $150 (After Rebates) and are more efficient, faster, cooler and quieter than those from the previous generation.

As far as deciding between similar ATI/AMD and nVidia cards, generally it depends on whether you play mostly D3D or OpenGL (Doom, Quake, Prey) games.

I strongly recommend X1950 Pro AGP if you afford it. The other AGP cards aren't worth it IMO unless you can get one for cheap.
