Which One?

Since both system with a msi mobo and a amd 64 3000 cost 500$ which would be better? Or would the next generation would be better? Since Im not buying until 2-3 months

wait the 2-3 months and get 2x6800GTs

I'd need to see some benchmarks, but I'd say the 2x6600GTs would not be that much faster than the X800XL. Especially for the extra $50-$70

I've been playing around with a 7800 GTX recently and it consistently scores more than twice as high in 3dMark 05 and 3dMark 03 than my 6600 GT does, and its ability to play games at high resolutions with AA and AF at max settings without any slowdowns/choppiness whatsoever is thoroughly amazing. Since you're waiting 2 to 3 months anyways I'd say save up for a next-gen card like the GTX or even the GT...the prices should be down a bit by then, especially if ATI manages to get its next-gen card(s) to the market.

hold out just a little longer and your options of "high" and "middle" budget will be alot more broad for what youd want to snag

The 6600GTs in SLI are a joke. They offer performance similar to that of a single 6800GT, better to spend the money on a 6800GT or an X800XL. Or wait a few months and pick up two 6800GTs.
