Which one would you prefer to win? Oscar award or Nobel Prize?

Explain your reasons.

I would prefer the Oscar award because it would give me an instant passport to score with all the chicks.

Sorry for thinking with my d**k though! 😉

Oscar simply because it has been a dream of mine ever since the first time i stepped foot in front of a camera and walked on stage when i was 7. 😱

...

winning a nobel prize means you did something truly great for the world, oscar means you made/acted in/whatever a good movie. no comparison imo.

not surprising there, but i'd bet most people here would go for the Nobel.

Nobel>Oscar.

Nobel Prize powns Oscars, If I win I'll be remembered for my contibution to mankind. And I'll still get the hot chicks.

Nobel Prize
Far more prestigious IMHO.

Oscars are awarded every year. Nobel Prizes are not. Plus the Nobel prize carries the distinction of having accomplished something truly great. I would much rather be associated with Mother Teresa and Albert Einstein than Tom Cruise.

Oscar by far. The nobel is $1 million and you may share it. The Oscar means you get to star in several movies (several million a piece if you have an Oscar) and you get to be in commercials.

Where is the dilemna? Nobel all the way!

Oscar, you are famous.
Nobel, you made a difference in the world.

**EDIT**
I don't care if the Nobel doesn't give you much money. The fact that you made a difference enough that the world recognizes that achievement, that is worth more than a lifetime of no money troubles.

probably the Oscar since you have to be a movie star to get one. the tradeoff is that you're most likely dumber than a rock.

Same as my reasoning. Of course if you got the Nobel Prize for literature, that's not much different than an Oscar.

I think i'd rather be alive with a Medal of Honor then either of those two. but a Nobel would be nice, not sure if I have any ideas that could bring forth one, as in all actuality I have funny opinions on humanity... and an Oscar, well I have a brilliant story that I need to pen into a script and go to Hollywood with it, or in novel form and make it a movie from there... excellent story just no time to focus on writing it. 🙁 it's oscar worthy though 🙂

So how soon can we expect Thelma Schoonmaker to make her big screen debut? Who will she be endorsing? Nike? Gap? Depends?

EDIT: I think a lot of you are forgetting that there are also some Oscar categories that don't necessarily go to Actors or Directors.

are you kidding?

Depends on if you want to be famous or not. I can name probably 30 Oscar winners, and maybe 2 or 3 Nobel winners. It's sad, but true. Tom Cruise is a household name, George Smoot isn't.

Fixed 😉

Seriously, how many Nobel winners can the ignorant population name compared to people who won Oscars. It is a sad state of things, but it is true.

I, personally, know more about Nobel, but still, I can guarantee that most people don't.
