Which one would you get: 8KHAL or 8K7A+

Since the prise is the same, which would be better for XP1800.
AMD761 is a little bit old, but it has RAID.
KT266A is better performing, and 8KHA is suppose to be great board.
Disc performance matters, since computer would be used for video capturing (and other disc intensive activities).
I am leaning toward 8K7A+, but if you have expirience with it, please reply.

Thanks.

Why not go with the 8KHA+? 266a with RAID.

I have the regular 8K7A now, moving to a Soltek 266A board. It was stable, solid board, nothing spectacular though.

cannot go with 8KHA+ with RAID because shop where I intend to buy has only 8KHA+ without RAID (long story).
but why are you changing your board for such a small difference in performance?
I have KT133 now.

First off, 8KHA+ does not have RAID. Second, definately 8K7A+ over 8KHAL. Why??? Because the 8KHAL is a stripped down version of the 8kHA+ with no overclocking. Its really a OEM 8KHA+. Now if you could get a regular 8KHA+, i'd take it over the 8K7A+.

Oops. I thought the 8KHA+ had raid. My bad.

Because I found a board for cheap on the For Sale forum..and I have a problem with upgrading. 😀
