Which one will you choose?

I'm gonna change my old cd-rom in these few days .But I don't know how to choose a new one .
1.combo 2.DVDROM+CDRW 3.DVD-R

I need your recommandations
thanks in advance!

Do you have another optical drive or is this going to be your only one. Are you going to burn DVDs? Do you watch DVDs on the machine? Would you?

Yes,this is my only optical drive currently.but I frequently need to backup mass of data ,so I think a optical burnnig device is neccessary for me.what's more,I watch DVDs in occasion.

depends on what is the size the "mass of data" and your budget, and the available slots on your case/mobo

i would get a CDRW for $20AR at your local office store and a DVD for about $30 at newegg, but if i must choose from the 3 choices that you mentioned, i suggest a DVD/CDRW combo

If this is a money no object question, then the DVD-R drive is the way to go. If you are backing up massive amounts of data then i would go with the DVD-R drive.
