I work hard day in and day out, and succeed.

I applaud you folks! I don't know how you guys do it, but if it works for you, keep at it. However, I do get a sense that these people are socially inept. They're stuck in their own scheduled world. are you social/extroverted?

Not at all. It's not hard to dedicate an hour to an hour and a half a day to study, rather than watching TV or something else that isn't productive. I have a life and a girlfriend.

Props to you homie!

I'm not special. All it takes is a half-ass effort.

One time I was studying in Hornbake for a long time and a bunch of pretty girls sat in a nearby table. I had a hard time concentrating with them there. After about an hour or two, they left and one of the girls gave me a piece of paper with some stars drawn on it. She said it was an award for being such a good studier. I thought that was weird. The funny thing was that I really wasn't studying that well because they distracted me.

I'm lazy and I can't help it.

Out of 25-27 schedule hours (classes, tutorials and labs), I would hardly go to more than 5-7, I copy most labs, and do poorly on midterms (failing some of them). Everythign goes badly until about 2 weeks before exams start, at which point I start cramming and (generally) doing well on finals, though I end up with average marks over all.

Fvcking over achiever. You can all die and go to hell. I'm still trying to figure out how I'll study for my final exam, which is tomorrow morning.

Yeah, but you probably have twice the motivation I do. So you'll get a better job.

All I want to do is save up enough money to go travelling again. I LOVE travelling.

In high school, I never did any work and just breezed through with relatively good grades (As/Bs). In college, I've found I have to work pretty hard but only get okay grades (Bs).

King of procrastination, but that didn't stop me from finishing high school with a 3.8. My average in college is the same right now, although it's only been one semester, gimme time, it'll come down... :(

Last minute ... did well enough in HS & university. Later attended college and worked hard throughout and did extremely well (computer science)

I did things last minute and that worked for a few years, but after that I got screwed up the wall. Had to change my whole way of doing work. By that time I was so far behind in the curriculum, I had to survive on sheer will power to get through some courses.

I didn't study, didn't do homework, just depended on my high test scores to get me by... and it worked quite well.

So far I have always done everything last minute (working almost full time and taking 16 credits makes that my only choice). Nonetheless, I wish I was one of those disciplined that actually work their assess off for their grades. The difference with us (all-nighter pullers) and those who plan, study hard and do well is that the latter learns more in the end, lives a happier life, with less stress and depend less on luck and more on the fact that they did the things the right way.

Hopefully, I can start being a little bit more disciplined and be one of those that study hard and do well.

Regards

ng

Business and structural engineering

I don't know how I would describe myself as a student. I try to do all my work as soon as possible instead of procrastinating, but when it comes to exams, I always just study the night before (if I even study at all). So far, it has worked out quite well.

To ease my curiousity, could you list your class/major that you are judging your response.
How about the type that fvcked around, studied last minute and got bad to so-so grades? :p
That was me in college (IEOR major). Strangely enough, in HS, I was the day in, day out type. Either way, ancient history now.
