vapor-x probably has the best cooler.

otherwise, brand just isn't that important, aside from the ones that offer lifetime warranties. besides that, i'd just go for what's cheapest.

how's the airflow in your case? might want to get the XFX since it directly exhausts. the XFX is the only candidate that offers a lifetime warranty, also.

OP: any chance of including the name of the product in the post instead of just a link? - Helps those who don't want to click through all the newegg links just to find one e.g. the Vapor-X.

we need to know resolution, CPU, and what games he plays before we can be certain that raising his costs and power consumption with a crossfire solution would be both noticeably faster and worthwhile over a single 4870.

when i ordered my 4890 last week i came to a deadlock between two cards.

sapphire vaporx 850/975
-or-
powercolor 900/1000

both had beefer than reference coolers and were the right price (the vaporx was $10 more than the powercolor) at less than 200.00 shipped.

i really could have gone either way, so i asked the magic eight ball, and it said yes to the vaporx.

i chose the vaporx for less noise and blowing the hot air out of the case, although i think the powercolor would overclock better.
