Hi to all,

I just sold my PS4 and decided to go into PC gaming. I am also going to school for networking. I am looking at two mid grade PC's. The specs are about the same, but there is a slight difference in pricing. The first one that I am looking at and seems to have a better value is the Asus M51AD-US002S and the second is the Avatar I5-4576.

The Asus price is $864.79 and $784.79 after the rebate. The Avartar price is $903.99.

For the Asus, they didn't put down what GPU it has, but from looking around it seems as it has the same GPU as the Avartar (A Nvidia GTX 760). I did also contact the seller on the GPU, but I haven't got a word back yet.

Do you guys think the Asus should come in stock with the Nvidia GTX 760?
Plus I never heard of Avartar computers. How good are they and how do they match up with Asus?

Thanks a bunch,
Chuck

The Avatar has a better processor. I wouldn't consider the Asus until I knew what GPU was in it.

Having said that, I wouldn't buy either one... I'd just build one from parts.

Thanks Charlie,

I'm going to go for the Avartar, since the Asus doesn't guarantee me the GTX 760 GPU. Yes I did notice that the Avartar has a better CPU, but I thought that the price difference would make up for it. The Avartar is the best one that I've found under $1000. I could build my own PC, but then again I'm not to that level yet. Tried building one online, but ended up over $1000.

Thanks again

It's not really that difficult... it's like putting a model kit together. I did it after watching a YouTube video and posting questions here... now I'm a building fool... I've built or modded 6 PCs, 2 laptops, and I'm working on my 7th PC now.

They have a sticky at the top of the General Hardware section that features a mid-level gaming build @ $1000, you could very easily cut $100 of that build and have a superior build to the Avatar.

You're absolutely "up to that level." There are endless step-by-step guides online about how to build a PC and it's going to come in well under $1000. There are price points where you can buy prebuilt PCs for cheaper (~$400) but that's not what you're looking for.

Building a PC isn't as hard as some people think. Most of the parts only go together one way. It's just about knowing what to buy and everyone has already done that for you.

I know that yes I will save money building the PC myself, but at this time I am in a rush to get one, since my laptop is broken. I need a computer for school work, also I just sold my PS4, so I need to get back into gaming ASAP. BF4 is calling me. ;) I will surely planning on building my next purchase.

As for the computer, I cancelled the order for the Avartar, since I just found out that Amazon doesn't have it on hand and will have to get it from the seller/factory first, then they can ship it to me, and that will take 4-6 weeks. I can't wait that long, so I place an order for the Asus.

I called Amazon and Asus about the graphic card on the computer, but no one could give me the answer. Amazon said that I can always return it, with free shipping. So I have decided to purchase it and if the graphics card isn't a GTX 760, then I have decided I will just replace the card with a better one. Maybe a GTX 770. It seem that I won't lose too much money doing that when I was comparing to other brand/model for around $200-$400 more.

I did found two computer that I like on Amazon, but they both was around $1100-$1200 with a GTX 760 card and a better i5 processor. The name brand for the two computers was Adamant Computers. I Googled information on them and seen a lot of negative reviews, so I decided to not make a purchase for them.

Hopefully the Asus does come with the GTX 760 (fingers cross), since every one that I've seen on other seller's website indicate that it has the GTX 760. I will just have to see. Suppose to receive it on Friday. Thanks again!
