The E4000 series isn't worth it.

The E6550 and E6750 are very good processors, though you're not likely to notice a huge difference between them with what you're looking to do.

I would say to stick with the E6550, or if you're far more budget-minded, an E2200 is not a bad way to go.

My 6550 took 500fsb right away. The downside to the E6x50 chips is, you need GOOD ram and a mobo to hit the higher fsb's.

Gonna have to agrue with you on that,my E4500 is FAR from being not worth it,its a good processor for $125,runs most games very well,E6550 is better no doubt, but not THAT much better, though between a E6550 and E6750,the E6750 is only $20 more for better OCability and better performance at stock.

When you consider that the E2200 costs $30 LESS than the E4500 and performs just as well under virtually all tasks, no, the E4000 series processors are NOT worth it.

At all.
