Thanks, I have a 4200 atm, not sure if any of these would be an improvement. Also

Don't bother upgrading a 939 system. It's just not worth it compared to selling your parts and buying a new CPU+mobo+RAM. You should be able to get a decent amount on ebay for your 4200, since it's a dual core 939 chip. Is this for gaming?

You wouldn't notice much of an upgrade from an X2 4200+ to a FX-60. Depending on what your system needs, the money would be much better spent on a newer AM2 / AM3, Core 2 Duo, or i7 system. If you want an overall boost in system performance, consider more memory (especially if you have less than 2 GB) or a SSD. If you're looking for better FPS in games, a graphics card might be a better choice depending on what you're currently running.

I gave my old s939 system to my girlfriend (X2 4200+, 1 GB DDR-400, A8N-SLI Premium) and it's running Vista Home Premium with no problems. If anything, I'd prefer to put some more memory in it, but it definitely still performs very well.

If you wanna make that thing instantly faster, I would get a Vertex SSD. I got a 60gig one for my OS, and now I don't think I can live without it. It's expensive, but for me it was worth it.
