It would help if you posted your specs to make sure its compatable, but I would go with a Seasonic over a Fortron.

I'm getting it to replace my Antec Neo 480w. Currently my system seems to have to warm up before I am able to turn it on. I have to switch the psu on, and wait several minutes before I can power on the machine or it will not work.

I bought the fortron for my brother. Works great. I gotta buy one for myself now...

What do you think between the fortron linked above and this enermax below?

Well, I know seasonic is good, but kinda pricey. I may add another hard drive and another DVD drive or recorder. maybe some other stuff as well.

I was thinking at least 400W just in case.

From what I understand both Fortron and Enermax make some of the best quality PSUs. Seasonic is probably #1.

How good is Enhance? I've never heard of them. Also the links that you provided for the Enhance PSUs, they dont have any description as to what the rails are and how much Amperage they carry...
Thanks

Optical drives do not add a significant amount to the power draw so you can take that out of the equation. Hard drives are only a factor if you are running three or more at a given time. Really your primary concerns should be the GPU and CPU.

If you intend to buy a 8800GTX along with a high-end quad core CPU you may run into limitations with the 330 watt S12 -- otherwise you'll be fine.

Enhance is probably number two (followed by FSP) in my book right behind Seasonic in terms of desktop PSUs (you may be more familar with them as Silverstone units). So if you don't want to pay the top dollar for Seasonic Enhance would be my choice.

Operandi regarding the Enhance ENP-5140GH 400W that you suggested.

I was looking into that one, but the 3V rail is 20A and the 5.5V is only 14A I mean is that enough to run several hard drives, a floppy and two DVD RWs?

what exactly draws power from the 5.5V rail? It just sounds a little low.

It's 5.0 not 5.5 and not a whole lot really rides on it, nothing substantial for sure so I wouldn't worry about it.

Give this SPCR article a read for some good information regarding power draw. They've also reviewed the above mentioned Enhance, and Seasonic PSUs.

I thought Seasonic were made by Fortron.

FSP Group = Fortron = Fortron Source = Seasonic = HiQ?

Enhance is really good. I'd go for them over any AX### FSP PSU. Enermax is quite good, too. I think the best bang for buck would be the Enhance.
