I'm about to purchase one of these two boards today. I'm not overclocking. I just want a quality, stable board with good performance. Which would you choose?

Had no problems with a recent MSI build..has gotten good reviews.. Haven't used a gigabyte board in a loong time..last one
I had blew all the resistors of the board <g>

<< You must have tried hard to do that! Gigabyte is 'the only mainboard manufacturer that has received Taiwan's symbol of excellence for 4 consequent years'. To tell the truth, that's why I bought a Gigabyte board, and wasn't disappointed at all. >>

You'd be surprise what reversed polarity will do...HEE HEE

A lot of people have been raving about the Soyo KY7-Dragon+. I still have the Soyo SY-7VCA, and it is excellent, I will build a second system when we get the room for it. I don't have any experience with this board in particular, but Soyo is a good company. Also, I now own the EPoX 8KHA+, and it runs like a champ. I haven't turned off my computer since I put it together about 4 days ago. I have run 3DMark2001 in conjunction with CPU Burn-in programs. My memory is running out of spec a bit (CAS2 as opposed to 2.5), but I am not overclocking. Still, I have been very impressed.

Ditto on the Soyo boards..I built several of their BX boards with great results...reasonably priced and lots of overclock goodies if you're
into that sort of thing..The MSI was fine too..

If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the MSI. I've used MSI K7T Turbo-R and KT266. The original KT266 isn't nearly as good as the second version, but I'm still happy with it.

Featurewise, the MSI board has integrated USB2.0, whereas the Gigabyte board has integrated LAN... I like the USB 2.0.

I'd go with Gigabyte.

I've ordered a few MSI's in my life, and alot of them have come DOA, never had a problem with any of my gigas.
