I have no real idea, but I voted for the GIGABYTE 790 because I am very pleased with my GIGABYTE X58A-UD5. I have tried an ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO and it wasn't great.

I got this one.Does real well for me.I have 4gigs 1600 ram 965E processor/twin f3 spinpoint harddrives.I don't overclock but seems most all modern gigabyte mobos are easy to overclock.I did update my power supply to an asus 750 watt(I think).I picked it up at bb.This build is about two months old with no issues, running win 7 64 home ed.

For some reason the OP decided to PM me to "please help" in reference to this thread.

I'm so far behind the loop on motherboards that I'm useless, so I don't know if you went with a mass spamming of everyone on line, or picked me for some random virtue... I usually pick the cheapest board with the features I need, by a brand that isn't shite, it's not really rocket surgery.

anyway, this doubles as a bump, so there's your help. ;)

I got a PM, too. OP, the last mother board i bought was a Biostar product that was at least 4.5-6 yrs old. As for the products you have listed, i have no idea.

Same here mate.

I haven't looked at mobo hardware in YEARS...I usually drop £100-120 on a good ASUS board. Never failed me. Not entirely sure how they hold up now a days though! But I can't imagine they have gone to sh!t.

1) I don't use AMD boards
2) I'd recommend Asus and EVGA as their P55 boards were better than Gigabyte's.
3) Go spam someone else.

Well, I got a PM too. And to be honest, I have no idea which of those mobos is better. I have been researching the Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5, which does have DDR3/SATA3/USB3. It's also $180 at Newegg, which is a bit pricy, but it seems to have great features.

Received the spam with a read receipt attached. I reported the guy's post. Maybe it was confusion on his part but there's absolutely no reason I would have been on a list for help on this topic.

I've got under 3K posts so I'm not sure why I was targeted.
I am out of the loop as far as new mainboards are concerned.
I've had my current Asus barebones since 2007 and haven't thought of building a new computer for years ...... I use a computer til it dies.
Sorry I couldn't help.

The last two dozen boards I've purchased were ECS, PC Chips, Biostar, Zotac, and some cheap Foxconns, all running great. Haven't purchased ASUS or Gigabyte in years, except for a few graphics cards.

If the OP doesn't care about overclocking too much, then there really isn't much reason to go with the premium boards. Plenty of more affordable mainstream boards that would fit the bill.

I also received a PM with read receipt, and I haven't posted anything about hardware in ages. Smells really fishy.
