Well, as I said a 256MB card is a little more future-proof than a 128 MB one. However, if you're planning on upgrading your gfx card in the next 12-18 months again, then I guess the 6600GT would suit you just fine.

MO is that you're right. Of course it depends upon personal preferences. As long as you do not have larger video ram requirements than 128MB, the 128MB cards will perform just as well.
But turning on primarily AA, changes the picture somewhat. I'm pretty sure those tests were without AA and AF. It used to be that 128MB cards took a hit at AA on 1600X1200. However, I've personally noticed a hit already at 1280X1024 from AA, on FC and source (Bloodlines) with a 128MB card, forcing you down to 1024X768. (Other options highest or close to highest). And I think I've seen a FC benchmark that supports that, BTW.
