Etasis Gaming Power product line: ET-850 or Silverstone Zeus line: ST85ZF

Each of these models currently have a $40.00 rebate from newegg.

Does anyone have expereince with either of these two units. I will be purchasing a Silverstone TJ-09 case this weekend, and need to know if either of these two units would fit.

Thanks in advnace for your comments.

I would imagine the Etasis being higher quality as they are server grade psu's. Not to say the silverstone would be a crappy psu; but personally I would go with which ever is cheaper up front as they both are great. (Currently using a silverstone psu)

Same PSU. Note that these are based on older Etasis designs that are not very efficient. I have not seen any tests of the 850W unit, but given Etasis' track record and the superb voltage regulation of the 750W unit, it is not a stretch to say that the 850W unit would be just as good.

At 100$ it doesn't really matter if you NEED a 850 or 750w PSU, the next best thing he could possibly get is a 520hx for 80$ AR. The etasis IS a better unit then the 520hx, provides LOADS of headroom for future upgradibility, and that for 20$ extra. If it comes down to a 80$ and a 200$ PSU, then you could argue, but 100$ for a qaulity 750w PSU ? Not really ...

As far as I know Silverstone rebadged Etasis power supplies for the 56, 75, and 85 ZF series. I don't know who made the 65.

Either one should be quite good. Even if you're only gonna load the thing up half-way you should still get the benefit of greater efficiency.

Lots of reasons to go big even on a small demand system. My favorite is that the fan will hardly if ever ramp up....enjoy the lack of noise. The ripple will be nearly non-existent. They will not consume much more power than lower rated units at idle. Efficiency is pretty good on most of the newer big units......
