Which one is faster, 512MB SDRAM PC133 CAS2 or 256MB DDR PC2100?

As far as bandwidth is concerned:

PC133 SDRAM = 1064 MB/sec
PC2100 DDR = 2128 MB/sec

As for the amount of RAM, it really depends on what you do to see the benefits. For most people 256MB is more than enough, and 512MB won't really make that much of a difference regardless if it's SDRAM or DDR. However, if you do stuff like video editing then 512MB would definitely help.

At the moment I don't think you would notice much difference between DDR and SDRAM in real world use (not benchmarking).

It depends on what you do.. If you find yourself constantly swapping to disk due then lack of memory with 256MB RAM, then you can probably consider using more..

I noticed that 128MB PC2100 a little more expensive than SDRAM PC133. Is it time to buy DDR PC2100?
It's very hard to find AMD 760 chipset mobo and expensive.
Should I wait until KT266 mobo comes out?

If you are looking to buy Ram and a new motherboard and dont mind not being able to use your old ram and you want it NOW, then get the Iwill KA 266 board and some ram from crucial (PC1600 is all they have right now} That's what I did because I sold my computer. DDR is not worth switching to for performance alone.

I'll go with the ASUS A7M266. asus has always characterized cause it's proucts are really stable, but IWILL KA266 is really good too, anyways ill go with asus, really good brand.
