I been researching since last week but I can't come up with any answers. All my friends say AMD Athlon XP overclocks better, while some online reviews say P4s are better overclockers. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

They both overclock fairly easily depending on the sum of all the parts you use.

It depends... In my experience the P4's will last longer OC'd. The Athlon XP's can OC pretty good but with that goes higher temps. On the P4's I have done the temp increase is only a couple of degrees. I have had to get rid of several XP chips that eventually were heating up and crashing. Pop in a new CPU and all was well.

The new 2.4C is a really good overclocker. On air cooling you can get about 3.3 ghz. I built mine last night with an IC7, and I got about 3.15ghz easily. I haven't pushed it too far yet, but thats a 700+ mhz increase, and its going to be pretty cheap soon.
