Which one is better: Glasses or contact lens?

same here!

i wear glasses 90% of the time. only time i wear contacts is when im on my motorcycle or rafting.

Contacts.

Excluding aesthetic reasons (which are subjective) they:

1) give you a wider field of vision
2) don't slip and can't break if you get hit in the face playing sports, etc
3) can be worn while swimming (assuming you have goggles) (unless you want to pay 100+ for prescription goggles)

If u play sports contact would be better especially if ur playing basketball. Glasses are cheaper tho...if u can get both do so...i think glasses are better for all day wear than contact

I wore contacts from age 13 to 21 or so. I decided to get a pair of glasses and haven't gone back to contacts since.

My vision is so much better with glasses I'll never go back.

I have both. If I'm just lounging around the house, my glasses are the easiest.

When I go out, I try to wear my contacts, especially for anything slightly athletic.

what do you mean better vision? I thought that both had the same effect on vision?

Also, are contacts uncomfortable or something

Uh, they do have the same effect. They must have had bad contacts or the wrong prescription. My vision is great with contacts.

They aren't uncomfortable, you just need to get used to them. They WILL be 'noticable' for awhile, and it'll take some time to get used to putting them in and out, but it all becomes 2nd nature.

They are for about a week usually. I don't even notice them in my eyes now, until I've been wearing them for more than 16 hours straight. After that they get dry and uncomfortable, but the drops you get help with that.

I much prefer contacts to glasses.

I use both, I suggest you get both too.

There is just too much uncomfort if you wear your contacts more than 12 hours, your eyes will get really dry and you will have to use eye drops to temporary relieve the uncomfort.

I have those supposely"night and day" contacts where you can wear 24/7, but the truth is, while they are more comfortable than others after wearing for a long time, they are still not as comfortable as to have nothing in your eyes.

If contacts gets too irratating after wearing for a long time, I switch to glasses, and its always a good idea to have a backup to contacts in case your eyes got infected, lost your contacts, etc.

They do not have the same effect. I have tried contacts several times over the years and my vision is never as good as with glasses.

I dunno what to tell you guys, maybe you have some whack ass doctors. I've been wearing contacts for 7-8 years and I don't notice much of a difference between my contacts and my glasses. Actually I may see better with my contacts. I got them at the same time so it isn't like my prescription is messed up or anything either.

You might want to consider that your case is not representative of 100% of contact wearers.

I prefer contacts, but if I could only have one I would take glasses. If I am sick or in a hurry I like having glasses available even though I see better with contacts (my vision is poor enough that the distance from lens to eye makes a difference) and I like being able to have the peripheral vision that contacts can give you.

I've worn contacts for about 8 years now. I finally got a pair of glasses that worked (hadn't upgraded my glasses prescription in about 3 years), and I find myself wearing glasses more often now. However, that could just be the laziness factor...

Can't the contact get all up in your eye. Meaning: the contact goes under your eye or above, where you must push it around as you feel around your face and then as your try to push it out it crushes into pieces all around your eye and then you must be hospitalized for a month or so. I dunno, I never wore contacts, but i have seen scenarios where the contact gets stuck under the eye or something like that.
