It depends on State. I just made a Dell Home purchase (from Minnesota) and there was no tax.

I think Small Business charges taxes on every sale, regardless of state.
I think Dell Home charges tax if Dell has a presence in your state. (headquarters, or shipping warehouse).. not sure though

Dell Home - no sales tax in most states.

Dell Small Business - sales tax is charged in ALL states except for NH and OR.
