On a tight budget but I like to O/C my cpu's. Tbird prices are dropping and I got to get one. At newegg TBird 1gig 200mhz OEM for $97+SH vs a 1.2gig 266mhz OEM for $120+SH. Stepping unknown and unknowable. Hope to get 1300-1400 or more out of it on the epox DDR board. Its a crap shoot. Help me, help me, help me decide!!!! :Q

If you want a better chance at 1.4GHz, go for the 1.2, if a chance at 1.33GHz or maybe less, get a 1.0GHz. Chances are also better of getting an AXIA if you get a 1.2

Lately, have not been as good. Sometimes the first CPUs into a warehouse are the last out. This happened to me a few days ago, when I thought I would get late steppings, and instead got early ones.

I got some AXIAR 1GHz 200FSB's in today. Just when I thought the fun was over, I got week 11. So far so good at 1.45GHz.

The AXIARs are good chips - look out for them - my ones running stable at a 50% overclock - 1500MHz on a 1GHz rated chip (150x10 instead of 100x10).

If you want an overclocking chip... go to a company that only sells them - I get my stuff from Overclocks UK or Chillblast here in England - and I know I'm getting an AXIA or AXIAR. Incidentally, both companies ship to the US - Chillblast has some AXIARs in at the moment... I think - and my one runs at 1500 easily.

ocz has some 1ghz axiars for $150 <- ouch, i haven't seen anyone else online that carries them (yet)
