Which of these WS LCD's should I choose...

I think I pretty much have my widescreen LCD monitor search down to these three, but I can't make up my mind on which one. I think I just missed a sale at Dell :(, and I have no idea when or if any of these monitors will go on sale in the near future (before Xmas), so these are the prices I have to go with currently:

Samsung 205BW - $304.55
LG L204WT - $352.56
Dell 2007FPW - $383.34

I do play games (mostly WoW), have a Radeon 9800 Pro, do not plan on upgrading my computer anytime soon, and am replacing a 17" LCD Hitachi that 4+ years old (1280x1024). I do not plan on using this monitor for movies or anything of that nature (at least not right now, don't know about the future, nothing wrong with having features you may use later), and I watch videos through an S-video hookup between my TV and video card. In other words, this is going to used for gaming and general computer use, nothing real fancy like photo-editting or anything of that sort.

I also want to keep this monitor for many years as I do not upgrade that often. So, which one? I tend to like Dell monitors/displays because they always seem to get great reviews, but I am open to opinions. TYIA for the replies

I have a dell 2005, and have been very happy with it.

A friend just picked up one of these 22", although his was new *link is a refurb* from costco for the same price. It seems really nice as well, although I haven't spent alot of time with it. Seemed like a good deal for the $.

Edit Here is the costco link, although it was marked down $100 in the store.

Thanks for the link, but I don't really want a monitor any larger than 20.1" at the moment because of space issues and the native resolution doesn't bump up until 24" I believe. That being said, there are alot of 19" LCD's around $200 (basically the 19" versions of the Samsung and the LG models listed above, the Samsung 940/1BW(?: is there a difference?) and the LG 194WT). Is it worth the extra ~$120 for the extra inch and higher native resolution (1440x900 vs. 1680x1050 keeping it mind I don't plan on replacing the monitor for several years). Thanks.

Dell 2007fpw is probably the best monitor at that price point.

Cross your fingers you get a S-IPS panel too :)

I'm debating between the Samsung 941bw (I think it is just a more recent slightly better version of the 940bw) for $190 at newegg and the benQ 20" for $240 at newegg. Both seem good and are a full $100 less than a lot of other similarly sized monitors.

I just got the 941bw at buy.com for 205 shipped w/ 40MIR, 165 total. Very nice monitor and for that price you can afford to get two!

As a Dell 2007WFP owner, I'd recomend against it. I had an S-IPS one and it had issues so I had to exchange it. This time around I got a S-PVA. I do not like it. Gray's all blend into black unless the gamma is cranked up viewed straight on. It looks to me like I'm looking thru a fine window screen all the time, the backlight bleeding is very bad in all four corners and actually makes an " X " pattern. The banding isn't too bad but in games like F.E.A.R, the grays blending lead to alot of black area's that aren't black. I've read that this monitor has some input lag but that I really haven't noticed but it does seem like quick movements in games take a little time. Maybe that's the lag. Currently, as I type this, it looks like the left side of the screen is brighter than the right side. If I were you, I'd put a couple hundred more into it and get the NEC 20WMGX2. I really, really wish I had!

Oh, and btw, both monitors were manufactured in Mexico in September and are revision 3's. No way to tell if you got a S-IPS or S-PVA until you open it. Also, all the reviews of this monitor were done before Dell decided to change/interchange panels without telling and were all S-IPS.
