Which of these two?

Looking for something to upgrade my DDR2-800 as i'm doing some mild overclocking & while my ram is doing ok @ 920MHz, I think that's about all it's going to do.
I'm looking at these two sets.
Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks.

How about this GSkill ? DDR2-1000, 4Gig, and only $90.

That's a steal!

Well, of the 2 I had linked to, one was $49 & the other was $54...both AR.

Wierd, I only saw one set of memory in your link, but I didn't notice the MIR on the Patriot.

I prefer the GSkill....it's 4gig, only takes up two memory slots, so it's a bit easier to OC 2x2 then 4x1 if you ever move to 4gig.

Also, that Patriot is spec'd at 2.3V, that's a bit high for me, I'd worry about the RAM dying, unless you use active cooling on it.

The GSkill (and other 4gig kits around that speed) use Powerchip IC's, which usually will run DDR2-1000 at 1.9-2.0V, maybe 2.1V tops, from the reviews I've seen. Lower volts=cooler RAM, so that would tip me to the GSkill.

I also didn't notice your link was for 2x2gb. 🙂
I don't know which set you saw in my link, but one was the Patriot (which is what I assume you saw) & the other was the Corsair Dominator (5-5-5-15 @ 2.1v).
BTW, I edited the link...see if it works now. 🙂

I see them both now. If you want to stick with only 2Gig, then I would go with the Corsair.....it's only rated to 2.1V vs the 2.3V of the patriot. Most likely, all of the 2x1gig kits that run 2.1V will probably be using the same memory IC's, so go with whoever has the best deal going.

Cooler is always better 🙂
