The most stressing game that I will be playing on it will be Oblivion.
Desktop (current, built by myself a while back)
AMD Athlon64 3000+ (stock)
Gigabyte nForce 3 Ultra
Geforce 6800 GT (xfx, stock)
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS
2gb Corsair XMS PC3200
WD Raptor 10,000 RPM
Windows XP Pro SP2
Toshiba P105
Intel Core Duo 1.83Ghz
Intel 945GM Chipset
Geforce 7900 GS GO 256mb
4200 RPM 160gb hard drive (the higher density should make it access data quicker than a smaller capacity drives that are of similar speeds, right?)
Planning on putting in 2gb of DDR2 PC5300 if the rest is superior
Integrated sound
I was thinking about parting out my old PC and switch over to the notebook if it is superior. I am not sure how a core duo compares to an athlon 64 or how a 7900GS GO compares to a desktop 6800GT.
Will leaving a notebook on 24/7 really hurt its life expectancy if I am not using its LCD and gaming/crunching seti with it?
