Which of these monitors is the best one ?

Im buying a monitor tonight, so which of these two are better ? It'll be primarily used for gaming and movies. I see talk about panels and things, but no clue what it all means.

And dont hardly ever play FPS games online.

Edit: I picked these two monitors basically because of the price, and the 5 Egg rating that is hardly ever seen.

My secondary computer has that Asus, I like it a lot. No problems in games etc.
I can't speak for the Viewsonic.

I'm not sure about those monitors, but I just received the NEC EA231WMi in the mail and I am blown away by its quality. I'm talking screen quality AND build quality. It is an IPS screen, so it has gorgeous colors with a wide viewing angle. The stand is fully adjustable (height, tilt, swivel, rotate) and just touching the monitor, you can feel the high quality materials. The stand is weighed, so the monitor doesn't shake and when you adjust the height or rotate the screen, all the movements glide very smoothly.

I also like how understated the bezel is. No glossy plastic or flashy logos. You can adjust the brightness of the power LED light in the bottom right hand corner and even turn it off if you prefer. I paid $264 shipped from Amazon, so it is a bit more than you might be looking at, but I suggest considering it because this monitor still exceeded my expectations after all the research I did and I am very picky about monitors.
