I'd like to purchase a 26" LCD TV and I'm considering one of these:

Samsung LN26A330

Sony Bravia KDL26M4000
http://accessories.us.dell.com...dhs&cs=19&sku=A1624352

Cox cable has some QAM channels here, but most of the cable we'll be watching on it will be standard definition and non-widescreen.

I've read that Sony's Bravia 2 engine in the model above makes standard definition content look good on the LCD.

I know there are 32" LCDs at almost similar prices, but the place I'll be putting the TV is size / space limited. I need to get it from Dell because I have a one-time-use coupon I'd like to use. So, which one should I get?

Samsung and Sony both use Samsung made panels and both are quality brands. Considering they are the same price its literally a crapshoot IMO. Still 599 is amazingly overpriced on those 2 LCDs so your coupon better be pretty significant.

Well with my coupons I can get the Sony down to $508.28 and the Samsung down to $573.80. I missed that deal on the 32" Samsung at CC for $499.

I guess the Sony it is then.

Where can we get one of those coupons?

Edit:
The price of that Samsung is now $599 and none of the stores around me have it in stock anyway.

I just called and they said it is a price drop not a two day sale. The online price is incorrect. They also have it at Sears and Walmart for $499 I was told it was a price drop. I got my coupon in the mail.

EDIT: Sears link here - http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_1...sions&sName=Flat+Panel

I ended up getting the Sony. I really like it. It's a great bedroom sized TV. Picture quality to my eyes is great and looks as good as my brother's 32" Samsung LN32A300. I guess it's because the KDL-26M4000 is the same resolution as the LN32A300 on a smaller screen. I've read on some reviews that the Bravia 2 engine really helps with standard definition channels and it is true. Standard definition / 4:3 channels look much better on my KDL-26M4000 than they do on the LN32A300.

The only thing about the KDL-26M4000 is the delay or time it takes to change channels. I had a 13" Sony WEGA and changing channels was almost instant. With the LN32A300, there's a slight delay in displaying the picture, but the audio is instant. With the KDL-26M4000 both the audio and picture are slightly delayed when changing channels.

Called Dell to get a return label and RMA number for the TV and they offered to take an additional $35 off the price bringing the total price of the thing to $473.28. I guess I'll be keeping it since they charge a 15% restocking fee on open TVs.
