Lenovo Y510P Gaming Notebook in great physical and working condition! Just switched to a desktop PC and no longer have a need for this great notebook. PLEASE NOTE this is the RARE version of the Y510P with the DUAL NVIDIA 755M 2GB GPUs in SLI! ****I have ALSO UPGRADED THE STORAGE TO A 120 GB SSD Boot Drive along with a 1 TB HDD!!**** Fantastic performance for the price! These two GPUs in SLI are about equivalent in performance to a desktop GTX 750Ti or slightly higher. Please refer to the pictures for a detailed look at the item. I am including the original OEM charger and Lenovo retail box with this sale.

Alienware M15X

Intel I7 720QM quadcore up to 2.8ghz (I chose this CPU because even if you put a 920xm in the computer it cant cool the chip effectively so the constant turbo is around the same as the I7 720qm) So to put it simply upgrading to a 920xm will yield little to no gains due to the cooling capacity of this laptop) Temps stay around 65c while gaming in metro 2033/last light I applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound to both cpu and gpu!!

128gb SSD ( I only needed a 128gb drive since I built this laptop to play at my brother laws house where I only play a hand full of coop games including ARMA 3, Payday 2, Rome, ETC.) Laptop boots to the desktop fully loaded in 12 seconds!!!!

6gb of DDR3

AMD/ATI 5870 Mobility with 1gb of GDDR5 plays every game I got on at least high and its DirectX 11 (I chose this gpu for its low wattage only 50w and high performance) Temps stay around 65c while playing metro 2033 with 99% usage! I applied Artic Silver 5 thermal compound to the Cpu and Gpu when I upgraded them! NOTE THIS LAPTOP CAN ACCEPT ANY MXM 3.0 Video card though you may need a new power brick!

the screen is a 15.6” 1600x900 this is good because all modern games will play at higher settings!!!

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with the original DVD

The windows experience index gives it a score of 7 with 7.9 being the highest score!!! I also included a picture of this.

Are you asking to buy one of these, and which is the better value?

Larry is correct - no price checks. OK - perhaps someone can estimate the better performer. Are those comments quotes from the seller? The format is confusing. I see a Lenovo equipped with AMD CPU vs Alienware with Intel. Then along comes another with AMD.

Do the sellers include any benchmarks? What are the respective ages?

lenovo lists the 510p as only having the intel 4700mq.
notebookcheck rates the 755m higher than the mobility 5870.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-755M.102020.0.html
the only game comparison for them is the metro 2033 (2010) where a single 755m is 5% faster than a pair of mobility 5870 crossfired

the mobility 5870 has 1GB vram, vs the 2 on the 755m.
the alienware's GPU is upgradeable, but mxm cards are relatively expensive.
the alienware is potentially upgradeable to a 770mx for ~$430

the alienware is running the 1st gen Nehalem i7 which has rather poor turbo when it comes to 3/4 cores (1.73GHz) (2 and 1 core are 2.4 and 2.8 respectively), whereas the lenovo is running haswell which turbos to 3.2GHz on 4 cores (3.3 for 2 cores, 3.4 for 1 core)
not sure if optimus is still ahead of AMD hybrid graphics, but historically optimus was better supported and had better battery life.
