hm...ok well didnt someone say that the regular 6600 with 256 mb runs at about the same speed as the 6600GT with 128? If this is true then wouldnt it make more sense to just go with the regular 6600 since its cheaper?

With your links.. not really, it's only $10, and that that you have to overclock your 6600256. If you're willing to overclock that, you can overclock your 6600GT and get even faster speeds.

The previous reply is correct. The eBay seller is being devious. There are a couple of "generic" factories that produce UNBRANDED cards. The guarantees and warranties on such items are only as good as the seller's reputation. Under such circumstances, even a lower tier name is better than none at all.

Don't bother with a 256Mb 6600GT. And certainly don't get the 256Mb 6600. Just get the plain 6600GT. A 256Mb 6600 can only match a GT in theory (wild overclock on GPU and memory).
As for the brand, get any of the more popular ones (any of the ones that were mentioned on this thread).

Shopzilla says that it is a 6800GT for $136. The only problem is that when you actually click on the links, you'll see that they are all actually 6600GT's, and the $136 card at NewEgg (the lowest price listed) is actually kind of high for that card as a refurb when you can get a new one for $120 or less with a rebate.

If you can't wait for 1-2 months then go ahead and buy the 6600GT 128MB AGP (it is way better than the 256MB 6600), but if you can then wait for the 6800GS 256MB AGP to launch (hopefully it should soon) also in the hot deals post I saw a X850 Pro for $179 something.

The memory on the card won't make much of a diff in terms of FPS if the graphic core is not powerful enough.

Here is even a link to a 512MB 6200 lol (Joke of the year) http://www.digitallyunique.com/pvt44aya.html?src=247

But that 512MB will be better utilized by a core like the 7800GTX, X1800XT etc.. not a 6200 :)

Last time I checked, 6600 256MB ran at DDR speeds while the 6600GT 128MB ran at DDR3 speeds. I had the same dillemma as you till I found that simple fact.
