Which of these external antennas will improve my Buffalo router?

Go for the same brand. BUFFALO WLE-HG-NDC 7 dBi. And this is outdoor!

Alternate choose can be D-Link ANT24-0400 2.4GHz Omni-Directional 4dBi. Although it is only indoor, 'Omni directional' (=360') & fairly works great. (ANT24-0700) Price is pretty fair enough, durable.

Better antennas will only help you marginally if you don't have them on both ends of the connection (the AP and the client device). You are better off monkeying with the location of the AP. I moved my AP over 2 feet after I realized that I had it directly under the ductwork in my basement. that improved signals significantly. Get a longer ethernet cable and start moving it around to other spots in the room/house.

If you really need a better signal, you can get two APs and set them up in repeater mode for each other, but that does decrease your bandwidth and increase your latency slightly. for everyday web surfing stuff it should be seamless though.

also, don't sit the AP on top of your microwave.
