At every level from medical assistant to nurse to physician, the income is below educational/intellectual peer and the work load is far more.

What other field can someone 2 years out of high school with an associates degree make 40k+ and maybe even 60k+? And yes, some physicians may pull in less than a similarly educated counterpart, but by no means to all or even I'd wager most.

I couldn't see myself doing anything other than engineering since I was little kid.

Electronics/Automation Technician. Best job in the world, We get to bail out the manufacturing engineers all the time...

you don't get paid for those 3 months off and i bet you aren't goofing off then either, you're out getting your class stuff ready, buying supplies on your own dime, etc.

My wife taught summer school so we'd have a bit of extra money coming in. She said there were many teachers there that had to though just to get by. Many others needed to take menial non-teaching jobs.
