I am looking for a Convertible.... now I would personally prefer a Hard Top as it's more durable and safer... but the only Hard top in my budget that I can find is the Volkswagen EOS

My most wanted car ws either the Mustang Convertible or the Camaro Convertible (both the v6 variants)

The thing is... The Mustang which they sell here in Dubai comes preconfigured...no HID lights, just leather seats, Airconditioning, auto transmission....

Coming on to the Camaro Convertible,, it has HID lights as standard but the people at Ford are telling me go test drive it and you'll come running back to Mustang as the Camaro has a lot of blind spots

The Camaro and Mustang do not come with Free Insuarance or a Free Service Plan....the Volkswagen EOS comes with free registration, free insurance, and a 3 year / 60,000 kms free service plan

Price of the Mustang Convertible v6 = USD $40,816
Price of the Camaro Convertible v6 = USD $41,360
Price of the Vokswagen EOS = USD $38,095

I have test driven the Mustang v6 and fell in love with its power even the v6 is very powerful

I also test drove the EOS the power is very much less, although it has a better interior, more features like parking sensors, HID lights, hard top convertible, etc but the looks are very pale IMO compared to the Mustang or Camaro however it is more practical since it's cheaper and has a hard top

I am really confused.

what is your opinion guys?

My lady paid only $5k over your budget for the car in my sig. 😛

Please don't buy a V6 American muscle car.

Also, with $40k, you can get the new 5.0GT Mustang, which is almost as fun to drive as the one in my drive way. Almost.

Vokswagen EOS because I"m married and I want a dependable safe care for me and my loved ones...

It's a fucking convertible: WTF a VW?! hahaha.

Get the Camaro: women buy Mustangs.

Don't be a woman, get THIS CAR!

Its an effing demonic.

I own regular Mustang V6 so I might be biased but...Mustang all the way. Test drove the Camaro and it's inferior in everything except looks (which I personally think is a draw between the two since Mustang has a more classic look which I like).

No opinion on the EOS.

would you care to elaborate?

I have test driven the v6 Mustang and absolutely loved it!

How is it better than the Camaro other than looks?

What about interior? handling? etc?

I would get none of them, or something all of a year older and a whole cheaper.
But than a car is just a way to get from point A to point B for me.
Oh and I do believe this should be in the garage not here.

If being given for free the mustang would be preferable but only just barely.
If within the 40k budget for free the Volkswagen EOS would however be the only option.
The other two are above 40k. 😛
Also needs option for see results.

Mustang. I have one and love it. But those prices are really high. I paid about 35k for my 2012 V8 GT convertible about 6 months ago. It is a really fun car and it comes with the standard 36/36,000 warranty. The Camaro does have a lot of blind spots and visibility in the Mustang is vastly superior. Plus with the new models of the Mustang, wit the top up their is very little road noise. You cant really even tell it is a convertible.

Just do some negotiating.

I love my Mustang.

You are in Dubai, there should be plenty of used toy cars no?

Yes but most of them are accident damaged cars people just sell used crap here that is damaged and they just polish it up and fix it... I don't want to buy a headache

Mustang but only if you get it with a manual trans. If going automatic you might as well get the VW.

And why is that?

PS: They don't have manual Mustangs here in the agency only the used cars which were imported from he US have them... I really want a manual to be honest but love the fact of owning a brand new car that doesn't have a single problem hidden

Prices here in Dubai are much higher 🙁

And no Manual Transmission versions!

I am just scared of one thing.... if you buy a soft top convertible.... and temperatures here in Dubai reach up to 116 F.... so is the soft top able to really insulate the heat out? I am afraid I would buy it and be switting my a$$ off even with the AC on due to the intense heat....that's my only worry with a soft top...

I have asked a few people on the road and they said it's fine but I don't think they were honest maybe?

I mean what kind of material is the soft top made of? Can it insulate such high heat really to make the AC work or would the heat still penetrate into the car making the AC useless?

why are you even buying a convertible at all if you are concerned about heat? Also, Isn't Dubai prone to sand storm?

there has to be non damaged used cars no? don't you guys check vin for accident history?

I would really look at a used boxster. The Air Con is amazing, Handles like a dream and can be purchased for much less than 20k let alone 40.

Even if you order one from the US and pay shipping you will still save money over the cars you listed.
