My goal is to have a system with triple display which will be used primarily for text editing (coding) and web design. I have excluded any TN type displays from my search due to their poor viewing angles and inaccurate color reproduction. I have narrowed it down to the following candidates and I would like your opinion on which one would be the best value, keeping in mind that I will be buying 3 of them. If you feel that a particular display is missing from the list, I would appreciate it if you let me know.

NEC 20WGX2Pro
Price: £300
Reviews: 1 2

Asus PW201
Price: £255
Reviews: 1 2 3

Philips 200WP7ES
Price: £260
Reviews: 1 2

Acer AL2023WA (no longer considering this)
Price: £160
Reviews: Anyone know of any?

Right now I am inclined to go for the NEC. It has the best reviews and I have yet to find a negative comment about it other than its reflective coating, which is not a problem. However it is the most expensive one and although it's only £50 more from the rest (with the exception of the Acer) the fact that I'm going to be buying three of them means I will be paying £150 more which is considerable. So I guess I have two questions

  1. 1. Is the extra money for the NEC worth it considering the primary use is text editing and web design?
  1. 2. Is the half-price Acer in the same league as the other monitors? (no longer a problem)

Update: The Acer is a TN based display, so I am no longer considering it.

I'd say the NEC, but i don't know a lot about the Asus or Philips.

I'm all but positive that Acer is a TN.
There was an MVA Acer 20", but i can't recall the model off hand...wasn't the one you've got mentioned though.
Either way, no Acer 20" is in the same league as that NEC.

I think you are right. I got the model number of a list of displays that were supposed to be all non-TN, but a search on flatpanels.dk shows the following

Acer AL2023WA (widescreen) has a 20 inch 5 ms TN panel.

So that one is out of the race.
