which of these 2 LCD widescreen displays ???

Get the Viewsonic, not the Rosewill. Aside from the fact that Viewsonic has been around for quite some time and has a fairly good reputation, while Rosewill is some cheap brand that Newegg sells (and possibly "makes," in the OEM sense), the Viewsonic has a DVI input that the Rosewill lacks. Given that LCDs should always be used with DVI for best quality, I think the choice between these two models is clearly evident based on that issue alone.

Not really Jimmy, since Dell sold tens of thousands of those monitors. I have one myself that I got the day they were released and its still going strong. A certain amount of refurbs for any product should be expected. Man is not capable of perfection.

allot of these are just display models. I have read tons of reviews about this particular Dell line and never heard a bad one. Here are a few.

You can spend a little bit more and get a 20.1" widescreen:

Sceptre X20G-Naga3 $263 shipped AR

ViewSonic VX2025wm about $300 shipped with no rebate

From what I've read, the ViewSonic is the better monitor. However, I'm using the Sceptre right now at work, and I think it's great. I took it home last weekend to try it out for gaming, and I detected no ghosting on Quake 4, and it looked beautiful compared to my 19" CRT.

Definitely get DVI. We have VGA cards at work, and I noticed a big difference between that and the DVI connection. Looking at the specs on your upcoming system, you definitely don't want to be plugging a VGA connector into your 7900GT. That would be a waste.
