Hey all,

Well, I think I OC'd properly, but I'm not sure. I'm getting the following numbers in RMClock. I'm using a C2D E6400 which has a default clock of 2.13 gHz.

RMClock Values

What is the difference between throttle and core clock? More importantly, which one is what my processor is actually running at?

Also, another quick question. Using CPU-Z, my clock speed is listed at a similar number to the one in RMClock, and the multiplier is listed at 6 (why? I think in the BIOS it's at 8).

CPU-Z Values

Which speed am I actually running at, and what am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Heh, from what I guess, the core clock is what it is running at, and the throttle is what you have it set at. But I'm guessing you got some powersaving options left on, and thus your cpu is being throttled to lower speeds.

and the multi in CPU-Z is at 6, because your cpu is throttling. Try stresstesting it with ORTHOS or TAT, and then look in cpu-z again, I bet the multi will go up to 8.

But, a better suggestion is, disable all the energy saving options in your BIOS, can't recall the exact names, something like EIST, I think :p Sorry, but the last time I looked at a c2d mobo bios I disabled that stuff, OC-ed the rig, and never looked back :p

Both are correct, you have power management enabled.

When the CPU is loaded your running 8x320=2560, when CPU is not loaded your running 6x320=1920
