I am trying to figure out the ESN of my dad's cell phone.

Model is Samsung SCH-A670, and original service was with Verizon.

I took the battery off and there are two numbers there, one 11 digital number, and below it, an 8 digit hexadecimal number.

Which is this cell phone's ESN?

mshan: Both of those are the same number, just ones in DEC and ones in HEX. Either will work to activate the phone.

If you get a newer phone, you might end up with an MEID which starts with "A000000" (zeros, not Ohs).
