Which NIMH rechargable batteries should I buy?

After buying a ton of AA batteries from there, I'm finding a greater and greater need for the stupid AAA batteries. Guess I'll have to order a pile of those...

Are the chargers at batteryspace good enough? I've seen mentioned:
P1000
V2000
V6988
It looks like the 1000 & 2000 don't charge each cell separately (?), but the 6988 does?

I've read a couple people saying the Lightning Pack 4000N is the best. True? Is it better than the Maha/Powerex MH-C401FS? None of the above sites sell the 4000N that I found (ripvan100.com does). Someone said the C401FS can charge each battery separately and that the C204F can't. I believe the 4000N can. I probably won't use rechargables enough to justify spending over $30 for a charger.

Batteryspace only carries the Powerizer. A few people have said some negative things about the Powerizers (and good and bad about batteryspace). The 1800 Powerizer did worse than all the other 1600's here.

Can you get Powerizer/MAHA batteries anywhere in larger quantities than a 4 pack?

Quite simply, it is how much power the battery holds.

A 1800mAh battery should theoretically be able to put out 1800 milliamps(mA), or 1.8A, for an hour, hence 1800milliamp-hours(mAh).

A 2300mAh battery should be able to put out 2300mAh, or 2.3A, for an hour.

Or 1150mA for 2 hours. Or 575mA for 3 hours... etc.

Of course, when you connect multiple batteries together in series, the capacity raises with each additional battery. So if your camera takes 4 batteries and you use the 2300mAh flavor, you have a total of 9200mAh available, compared to only 7200 with 1800mAh batteries.

Not really sure if that does a very good job of explaining exactly what it is, if you don't have a concept of amperage/current.. but.. if not, go read some basic electronics.. lol.

Edit: grammar, corrected abbreviations..lol
I think that technically when you run them in series your volts will increase by 4 (with 4 batteries), but your capacity (amps) will stay the same. So you'll now have 6 volts at 2300mah vs. 1800 and 1.5 volt with one battery. Now, if you run them parallel you will keep the same volts but quadruple the longevity of the battery, since you've got four times the amps! Or something.
Link 😀
You're right, lol.. I always get serial and parallel circuits mixed up in my head for some reason.. heh. 😱

I don't really have anything to add about the Powerizer batteries, but I'm 100% satisified with my Powerex 2200mAh batteries and Maha C401-FS charger. I get 300 - 500 pics with the A60 depending on settings. 🙂

btw the powerex brand by maha are arguably the best rechargeables out there,
and thomas-distributing is a great place to get them.

Ditto. I have never used anything but Maha's and they seem to be great.

Can't beat the price. For less than a buck a battery, who cares if they get screwed up? Not that they would anyway...
