I currently run a 8rda+ 1.1 rev. w/1700+ @ 11x187fsb....My friend wants a cheap system, so I am selling him my current mobo/cpu/ram...and going to upgrade, not much though...here is what I am looking at: 2500+, 2x512mb Buffalo pc3700 bh-5; and for the mobo I would like firewire support for my digital video camera, 200+fsb capability, mcp-t, and I don't want to spend very much...I guess the expensive I would like to go is an Abit nf7s. So would I have better luck with the nf7s 2.0, 8rda+ 1.2, or something else?

anyone else? That's also what I was thinking, but SATA is not in my future as the Raptor being the only thing that is better than IDE but $130 for 36gb ain't a good deal to me...

that's nice choice but i think you spend more buck for sata that you don't want to use,
i already have nf7s with twincorsair and sata, it's amazing !
i have 8rda+ too its amazing too,
your choice is very good for now !
you should check some periperal to boost your mobo like vga card !
radeon 9500 pro maybe

I have a Radeon 9800 Pro...so a 9500 Pro wouldn't benefit me in any way, hehe. I am just looking for an excuse to upgrade, and a reason to hook my friend up with a good deal on some stuff, as he doesn't have much money to spend and couldn't afford even a new 8rda+ and 1700+.

"However, we found there was much more to the NFII than attention-grabbing eye-candy. The NFII is also the best-performing AMD Athlon board that we have tested. It overclocks further than any other Athlon board we have seen, and it performs better at all speeds in gaming benchmarks. The board was clearly designed and tweaked for gaming performance. "

If your on a budget look at the Soltek SL-75FRN2. $85.00 shipped at Newegg. I have a Barton 2500@3200. 11X200FSB (400)
I have another one that should arrive tomorrow for another PC of mine. I really wanted to try the new Abit but this is for a 2nd PC and didnt want to spend the extra money when I know I can get my XP2100 at 2.2 Ghz with this board reason being it was in my main rig with another Soltek board the Bartons in now. :) However I did have some issues running my FSB at 200 till I flashed my BIOS. Its now stable!

Opps just seen you wanted firwire support which this board doesnt have builtin sorry.. ;)
