I'm getting rid of my VIA (thank God) and looked into the SIS and nforce solutions.. the only athlon chipset maker I trust is nvidia even tho they are the rookies.

Which nforce to get? I dont need the onboard video or audio but will take the audio just in case my audigy doesnt work with it.

Thanks in advance.. need to order one ASAP!

You should definitely consider Abit NV7-133R with nForce 415 chipset. Other than limited overlocking options, this board is loaded with features, and only costs $88 plus $5 shipping at newegg.com.

Nforce2 is only weeks (obstensively) from release, I would personally wait and see what the prices on the SPP model are like.

i agree but i only have 266 memory so i wont be able to get more than 4.2gb of bandwidth out of the nforce 2 either and i have a buyer for my new board now.

im waiting for the next amd chip for a major upgrade (cpu/mem/and board), either the next amd or build a 533fsb p4 as my new main machine and keep the nforce amd for backup/lanbox/server/whatever.

Agreed. That board is so tough to pass up IMHO.

About nForce2. dont wait. We may see benchmatrks in a few weeks but boards wont be here until September or later.

I've got the Asus A7N266-C. Very solid board and performs well but I'd recommend the Abit because it comes with more features.

I would have to say the Abit too, I looked at all the options just like everybody and ordered the Abit for a friend of mine. For $88 bucks you can't go wrong.
