Ok, noobish question I spose, but.. I'm lookin' to upgrade. I'll be gettin a 1700 or 2100, not sure which atm, but anyway, I'm wondering which mobo would be best so to speak WITH sata onboard.. I know choices are prob a bit slim atm.. I'll be getting a gig of dual channel 3200 (or faster..?), and i'd like to upgrade my HD at some point in the next year I figure so'd like to have SATA available. Throw me some ideas, suggestions, comments, etc. Thank ya!

The Abit suggested is a awesome board and definitely grab it if you would like Soundstorm and the other kicka$$ features the MCP-T brings to the table. However if you don't need/want the extras get the Soltek SL-75FRN2-RL for 95$ shipped from Newegg as it is also an excellent overclocker and has the Promise SATA controller which can be flashed to a full Fasttrak S150 TX2plus RAID controller which sells for 75$+ all by itself instead of the silicon Image the Asus and Abit use that's having problems with data corruption for many people, though since you aren't looking to upgrade to SATA for some time yet the issues should be completely resolved by then.

Newegg Wishlist

Thats what I'm thinkin about getting, can it be pretty much guaranteed that I'll get more than 1.53ghz outta this 1700? =P I'm kinda leary "upgrading" to a slower default clocked cpu, but have heard/read all the success stories w/ this chip..so am willing to give it a shot for 40$!! Man, that memories not cheap, but I want a gig of dual channel, sooo I guess thats what I pay. I was thinkin about the Geil..but haven't heard more good than bad on that, hear alot of good ont he Corsair stuff tho. Its either Corsair or Mushkin, and if I can get the Cors on the same order, i figure i'll do that this way..eh?

Ok, just put somethin together on Excalibur, Abit NF7-S v2.0 $118, 0310 guaranteed 1700+ $70, Kingston HyperX 3200 (2-2-2-6-1) dual chan 1gb $245. Totaling $426 after the $7 "combo" discount. Very tempting...
