As an aside: what are the major differences between DDR-II and ATi's recently-announced GDDR3?

My next planned major upgrade for my secondary system is two to three months away. Right now I am hoping that the Athlon XP 2800+(for faster)\nforce 2 are available by then. I will look at what Intel is offering by then too. For my primary system, I am going to wait for the first price drop on the Hammer.

1.) Solid State Storage
2.) Silent Computing (EVERY fast computer creates way to much heat, we're using plastic play toy fan's to cool high tech hardware, wtf is up with that?)
3.) .13m Radeon 9700 at higher clock speeds

HEAR HEAR!! Whirr! Buzz! I can't stand the damn doise! Makes me almost want to move to a VIA C3 just to have REAL silence....
but the problem of noise is now because of an older hard drive, rather than the CPU fan(s).

Silent is good...... the "Stealth" computer. ;) Think of the office headaches that would go away!

More disposable income (read: MONEY). :D

Seriously . . .

(if that is possible)

I am waiting for my current system to lag sufficiently so that I am irritated enough to upgrade.

And I am waiting for the equivalent of the Star Trek Voyager's main computer available in a PDA. :p

Ok then, how about soundcards that not only do environmental analysis for better sound effects in games, but also include speech recognition as a hardware function?
In addition to that:
-SATA might be nice, but solid state would be better; present HD technology is just too slow. Processors can deal with how many GB/sec of data, but the HD is stuck at less than 133MB/sec.
-Faster FSB and RAM speeds are also needed.
-PCI-X.
-More solid state storage, to replace CD-RW and DVD-RW completely; even those are too slow, and very susceptible to damage.
-An OS that'll run all your programs without deciding to randomly freeze up completely.
