For asthetics:
Chevy: That bumper is way too big. It makes the front end HUGE compared to the size of the truck. It's a beastly front end that says, "I've got 1000 ft-lbs behind me." But it doesn't.

GMC: Nice, balanced look. I'd say it the most says, "I'm a grown-up's truck."

I'd say the Ram is the equal of the GMC. Just a difference of whether you like boxy or some slopes and curves.

Toyota: WTF grille.

Nissan: Classic. I don't think it looks dated, I think it looks clean and a design that basically can't be improved upon. There's no question what it is.

F-150: Ford certainly went through a lot of effort to say nothing. (Still better than the Chevy, though.) There's going to be a bazillion of these things on the road, so if you want to be invisible, this is the truck for you.

Colorado isn't a full size truck. The trucks listed in the OP are all full sized 1/2 ton trucks.

My point is that a large number of full sized truck buyers don't need a full sized truck. The Colorado with a diesel is a very interesting test to see how well it will sell in a market overloaded with full sized, overpriced gas guzzlers.

Would 25%-35% of those same half ton buyers consider a mid-sized truck that offers a third to possibly twice the MPG of their new truck ?? Other than the Ram Ecodiesel, I don't see any of those trucks getting more than 18mpg. The Colorado may be able to get 28.

Of course they do. You don't have a reason to own a truck like many of us on the forum here do.

I would say that most people who own trucks don't really have a reason to own them. They just buy them because they want one and rationalize it in their own minds.

As far as looks, I would say Ford and the GMC are the best, but I prefer a much more blocky style than most.

I knew you would. You make that same tired argument every time. Let it rest already Jules. Just because you wouldn't buy one and can't fathom anyone needing one, doesn't mean that others don't. Even if they don't need one and just want one, there's nothing wrong with that, so just drop it.

What happened to trucks that actually look like trucks? All of these are ugly minus the ram. The ford? Wtf is that even supposed to be? It looks like they wrecked it and kept the look. Trucks these days are all about luxury and barely about being a truck anymore. BTW the Honda Ridgeline is supposedly one of the best trucks ever made, but I really don't know firsthand.

Went with the Tundra. No regrets so far except I added leather interior after.

I would never buy a Truck, unless I needed it's hauling capability. However, twice in the last month I have dreamt of buying a new balls to the wall Dodge that could chirp its' tires in any gear and at any speed. :D

The picture of the '15 F150 is the Ford Atlas concept/show truck. The actual released model contains a lot of design cues from the Atlas, but it's not as extreme.

I'm a Dodge truck guy, and that being said, I think one of the best looking trucks they have ever made is the new Ram Sport with the color matched bumpers and zero chrome.

Love.

The GMC 2500HD is the previous body.

The 2015 is the new design:

This is the 1500:

Personally, I like the Sierra the best, but they are all good picks besides the really out dated Nissan.

GM trucks are garbage.. They rust to sh!t and their frames suck -> Along with their interior; no matter how much they talk about how much better they are getting. I've owned Sierras and Silverados and would never buy one based on those experiences. they are probably fine for a suburbs home depot run, but not real work.

Personally I would buy the ford or toyota... I personally like the looks of the toyota better (subjective) and it has a great V8. the ford is a good truck and the twin turbos appeal to my boy racer side.

I think the ram has come a long way. did a long road trip in one and for a casual user, it might be at the top of my list. I liked the interior/seats and it road nice (most trucks do these days).

The nissan is just getting long in the tooth. Not sure how capable of a truck it ever was. I know a few people that own one. FWIW, I would buy it over a GM turck

They're getting carried away with the "look at me, I gotta big monster truck" look.

Trucks do not need to be this big.

I've hit 22 MPG hwy with my 5.0 F-150. Perhaps I had a tailwind that trip. Generally hit 20 MPG consistently on HWY and get 17-18 city.

Want to know something? I was waiting for Dodge to put the rumored diesel in the Dakota, but then they killed the Dakota which is what I had already with the old 3.9. I wanted more towing capability, and that probably would have fit the bill.

Only one problem... The Dakota, when configured the way I wanted it with the V8 was close enough in cost to the 1500/F-150 that it didn't make a whole lot of sense to buy the mid-sized truck... So we'll have to see what that new GM Colorado sells for nicely equipped.

Chevy gave a ballpark figure of 29k for the Colorado, but that just matches the entry price of the Dodge Ram, so that tells us nothing. Since its a 2016 model, we won't know for quite some time either.

Worked at a Ford dealer for 17 years.

I've always preferred GM's trucks. There's no denying that they are the longest-lasting. GM doesn't make that claim in commercials falsely...if was, Ford would have blown them out of the water immediately.

But looks....I like GM. Chevy, GMC, either way. Right this minute, I think the GMC looks slightly better.

Oddly, when you look at the full-size SUV's, I really don't like the GMC Yukon's headlights...I think the Suburban/Tahoe look better.

The Fords look okay. I don't like how high they sit, though. Try and get up in the bed of one. It's ridiculous, and it doesn't give them more ground clearance. The axles are the same height as anyone else's.

Never have liked the Dodge truck look. Interior is nice, though.
