I am currently using a athlob xp 3000 and a soyo kt600 plus for two years and everything is working ok but however, it appear that my agp card, Evga 6600gt and mb really hate each other and give me a tons of graphic glitch and video codec complability problem and not to menation nvidia driver really hate final fantasy xi. I seem nvidia and via board don;t dance well as well when it come to performance.

I think of several option, completely overhaud my system and upgrade to pci-e gpu, processor, mb ram etc. Or should i go for a low route and just get a decently good ati card? Like for example that X1650 pro that is suppose to be coming out soon for 99 dollar or something like x800 xt or x850 xt or extreme to X1900XT 256MB?

Also is it a good time to cwitch to pci-e or will agp still last for a while?

Well that processor is kind of old. If you were to play like high performance games such as bf2 or oblivion, I would definately upgrade. If you have the $ get a core 2 duo with a good video card. If you just want to stay with your current system, get a x850xt which is only a 100 after MIR. I just bought a x1900xt for 240 which i guess is a great deal. I would think it over.

I am considering upgrading to like x2 3800 or myabe sometime like pentiun D serie. I am pretty sure even somethign cheapo like pentium D805 would be better than my old 3000xp.

I would avoid any intel processor unless its a core 2 duo. Amd is great if a core 2 duo isnt a option. I would recommend a x2 3800+ or 4200+.
