Which NAS for me

I need a smart way to share my files, and the small NAS servers have gottne cheap, so I want one of those. The local computer store only has a very limited selection, however, so I would like some suggestions from you guys 🙂

My requirements:

1. A built-in FTP-server is a must.
2. It has to be silent or at least quiet.
3. Not too expensive (prices in Denmark and the US are very different, so it is hard to give budget, but about $100-$150 excluding the drive.)
4. USB-ports would be nice, but is not a must.

I do not care about printserver abilities, wireless etc.

Any help is much appreciated.
