Hi, I'm on a budget overclocking on a Epox 8Rda+ with t-bred 1700 B. I'd like to hit 200 (400) mhz FSB. For about the same price, which mushkin memory modules (2 x 256mb DDR) will get me the best results?

2 x 256 Black PC 2700 ( does 2-2-2 @ 333MHz )

2 x 256 Blue PC 3200 ( does 2.5-4-4 @ 400MHz )

From what I've read getting the higher frequency BLUE will yield better results than a lower frequency BLACK with tighter timings. However as their premiere line (and likely capable of hitting 200 (400) mhz with looser timings) would it be better going with the black line? Any thoughts?

Get the 3200DDR because it's garanteed to do 200mhz and if it doesn't you can have it replaced, with the 2700 you'll end up loosening the timings to get 200mhz most likely anyways and if it doesn't get there you have to try get the 3200 anyways ;)

how about $44 each for Mushkin 256MB Blue PC 3200 ( does 2.5-4-4 @ 400MHz )
on special sale and %10 off ANAND coupon. Not a bad deal for a dual channel setup for under $100 shipped.

Don't know if it gets much better than that!

Me too! I also ordered a 8rda+ to go with it. I'm setting everything up tonight :) I have a 1700+, but its a palamino, so I'm not expecting to pass the 1.67ghz barrier ;) Its currently running@ 1.6 in an iwill kk266+.

This was the first time I'd ever ordered Mushkin. It comes in the coolest package I've ever seen :) Check out an example here .
