Which MP3/Video Player should I get and what capacity?

Suggestions??? My only requirement is that it plays mp3s and video. I was hoping to be able to put music on the player without it being converted to some weird format and I wanted something where I could retrieve the music off the player if I wanted.

I have about 10 GB of music, dunno about video. You think 30GB is enough or should I shell out another $100 for another 30GB (i'd rather stay cheaper if I could)? I'm thinking 40 GB is perfect, but neither of the players have this capacity.

I will be mostly listening to music. I will only be watching video from time-to-time.

edit:
This Creative Vision:M looks intriguing. Can you pull music off of that?

The X5 doesn't come close to the iPod in the video department. A real competitor is the Zen Vision M or the upcoming Toshiba Gigabeat S.

Well first of all what doy uo want this player to do primarily? Are you going to use it for listening to music? Or are you going to bring it for video use and listen to music from time to time?
If you only want to watch video occasionally or just short clips i say get the ipod. if you want to have a video powerhouse then get the bulkier Zen.

Also you ARE able to get your music off your ipod witht he use of ephpod. plus Itunes Music Store might make some sort of difference to you. Especially with all the video content deals they are signing.

I haven't really done much research. What makes the iPod video better? Also, what sets the Zen Vision M above others, I've never heard of it before.

I say get teh ipod video then. It is smaller, cheaper, and easier to use than all the others IMO. The storage size is up to you. I went with the 30gig and just shuffle huge videos (like full length movies) so there is always one on it at a time.

Go for the iPod video as long as you don't plan on using it mainly for video. Personally it's video feature pisses me off and tends to get buggy. But music is fine and I enjoy the larger color screen.

So what makes X5 video so bad? Do I have to convert videos to a proprietary format for it to play on any of these players. Do none of these players play avis/divx?
