Hi guys.

I have decided to replace my old Creative Muvo 256 Mb player. I have been very satisfied with it, but I have a lot of transit time, and 246 Mb is just not enough. Help me decide on my new player :)

Requirements:

- Small size. I will listen to music while I run, so size is important. The Muvo can be worn around my neck, that is quite handy, it would be nice if this feature is present.
- Rechargeable battery.
- 2-4 Gb of storage space is plenty
- USB stick like connection. I do not want a USB cable for connection. You can never find them when you need them, and a USB stick like connection enables you to recharge the player nearly everywhere.
- The ability to operate with one hand. I will use this while riding my bicycle, so the ability to skip tracks and control volume one handed is important.

I do not need:

- A fancy display
- Video capability. This is for music only

Any suggestions?

Personally, I would suggest iRiver's Clix or T60, or just generally their players.

I hate to say it, but the Apple Ipod Nano is a sweet machine. I have a Panasonic that is quite good (2Gb) and 2 years old now. It has always been slow to boot up tho.

I got my daughter a current model Ipod Nano and it has a nice sizable screen, fast response and good sound. I like it a lot but I haven't used it much personally. The only down side is Itunes! :p

Somehow it is hard to come across players that have that built-in usb connector now.

Any players like that that I have seen had storage only up to 1GB
Sony Bean:

Creative muVo

I have seen only one that has more storage but it has no display at all:

Tough. Let us know if you find something, I would be interested myself in getting a flash drive with a headphone socket and a basic display.

Stay far away from the Bean! It may look cool but it is utter crap. Bought one for my sone and it broke in 2 minutes. Replacement broke in even less time. While I am not an iSheep the ipod nano is the way to go, or maybe the sandisk sensa. Its memory upgradable and cheaper than the pod.
