I am thinking about buying 5 Mega Pixel or less just to print out standard 8.5 x 11 paper but the photo quality is the most important for me I don't care much about MP so what is your suggestion?

Any good quality lense with 4MP resolution on fine setting should be adequate, for example brands like Canon,Nikon,Olympus etc...

The Canon Powershot S2 is 5MP with 12x zoom lense, very good camera and value for money.

Don't buy into more pixels is better, this only tells you half the story, the lense quality is the first most important thing.

IMHO a 3.2 Mega pixal and up (quality brand with 3x optical mimimum) is fine for my home use with a Canon pixma printer.

I have a Olympus D-560 , 3.2 MP that I use with a Canon I860 printer and a Canon Pixma 5000. The 8 x10s are very good to excellent with minimal (Picasa) editing.

If I were to get another camera today, I would get the best Canon A-series or sureshot I could get for $300 or less.

TBH the quality of the camera lens and sensor are at least as important as the number of pixels.

My old 4 MP Canon G3 produces far better pictures than some brand new 5 MP cameras.

Yes, you will just about see the pixels at 5 MP and 11x8 but only from a distance of a few inches. If you aren't making fine art, 3 MP or more will be fine. Even 4MP @ 11x14 is acceptable for a wall-mounted framed picture from my old G3 - although the pixels are obvious if someone peers right up to the glass.

Thank you I think I might want to try either Powershot A520 (4MP) or A620 (5MP) what do you guys think?
