I'd get the Logitech iFeel. It's optical and supports force feedback. Of course I love gadgets so if you don't want force feedback on the mouse I'd say to go for the Logitech Optical mouse.

The kensington Expert Mouse feels good to use... I love it. The track ball is about the size of a small cue-ball. The only problem is that it has mechanical part. An optical version would be nice, but I haven't seen one yet...

i'd stay away from the Microsoft meese...
i have a logitech optical and it works great, especially coupled with my Everglide giganta...

the microsoft wheels are usually set very llose, and the buttons usually rattle and are a lil loose themselves, to me, the logitech's are more sturdy feeling and the wheel has more friction to it, also the buttons are very well made and dont shift at all when touched... just my 2 c's

Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, have had it since the week it came out, works great, even after I spilled beer all over it:D Slightly larger than the average mouse, a few coworkers have tried it and don't like it, they have opted for the Intellimouse Optical; I can't stand the optical, feels weird in my hand. Best idea would be to test them in your hand at Compusa or something see what feels the best.

Although some claim to have problems with MS mice, I bought an explorer mouse about 4 months ago and love it...never go back to trackballs again :)

I have the logitech optical and it's my favorite mouse, I highly recommend it
I also have a cordless wheel mouse but the refresh rate on that is so low that it gets VERY annoying

I own an IntelliMouse With IntelliEye (the first version of the Intellimouse Optical) and love it. People say they have problems gaming with it, but I haven't experienced any (I snipe in UT with it all the time).

For gaming, you won't get better than the Boomslang. For non-gaming, i love the MS optical mouse (the smaller one with the sides button). I also have the blue logitech optical mouse, but i love the MS one better, especially the scrollwheel (best scroll wheel out there).
