Which motherboards do Alienware use?

Hello im trying to determine what type of motherboard is in my alienware aurora 5500 pc so I make the correct choice for a ram upgrade.

The only information im finding on alienwares site about the motherboard is that its a "Alienware® nForce?4 SLI? Chipset Motherboard PCI Express "

When looking at pictures of the motherboard on the site you can see the ASUS logo present.

Im going to be upgrading the ram with a corsair xms 2 gig (2x 1024mb) kit and I need to find which voltage of ram to purchase and which speeds to get.

Thank you kindly

Alienware tech support would be the place to ask. Most people around here build their own rigs, the rare Alienware thread we get most often goes down in flames.

Asus A8N SLI from what i have seen. Open the case and look between your PCI slots. If it is that motherboard has a broad selection of ram you can use. Anything rated at 2.5-2.6 default voltage and cas 2.0 6-3-3, or cas 2.5 would be fine. Nearly all SLI boards run pretty good with corsair (DFI sometimes withstanding). You seem new at this so i would just call Alienware and ask them what they would recommend. THey also have forums you can post in if you have your sales number.
