Which motherboard?

I had my mind set on the 750i FTW, but I saw someone else post here with the same CPU as what I just bought on a Asus P5K-E running at 3.9GHz. I was just wondering that since I am going to be buying faster ram, would I be able to get up to 3.9+ on the 750i?

I am planning on buying either 1000 or 1066 RAM, still deciding right now.

8 phase pwm and up is what you want for overclocking. I've seen some of the Gigabyte boards with some new Quad Triple phase pwm

I'm not sure about the Evga board but i see the Asus has 8 phase pwm

The EVGA board has 6 phase power.

Well, I'm very new to overclocking. The last time I tried to overclock a processor I had the slowest RAM that would possilbly work on the motherboard. I'm very open to suggestions right now.

no. of phases alone isn't an indicator of a good PWM design (it's good for marketing though).
as Anandtech said in their 780G article follow up it's possible for a good 4 phase to outperform a poor 5/6 etc.
