8 phase pwm and up is what you want for overclocking. I've seen some of the Gigabyte boards with some new Quad Triple phase pwm

I'm not sure about the Evga board but i see the Asus has 8 phase pwm
 
Well, I'm very new to overclocking. The last time I tried to overclock a processor I had the slowest RAM that would possilbly work on the motherboard. I'm very open to suggestions right now.
 
no. of phases alone isn't an indicator of a good PWM design (it's good for marketing though).
as Anandtech said in their 780G article follow up it's possible for a good 4 phase to outperform a poor 5/6 etc.
